Pittsburgh Steelers Fantasy Football: Who to start from the Los Angeles Chargers
By Dan Gilliam
The Pittsburgh Steelers have plenty of fantasy options to choose from in Week 13, but see who you should consider from the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chargers and Steelers meet in week 13, in Pittsburgh. This game will showcase the backup RBs but these are some very good backs. James Conner has shown that he can be the leader in the backfield for the Steelers plus he has shown to be one of the best in the NFL. He is currently third in rushing behind only Todd Gurley and Ezekiel Elliot. Melvin Gordon has been injured and will miss the next possibly 2-4 weeks so Austin Ekeler will get the start.
If you are playing fantasy football this week and need to know who to start on the Chargers then you have come to the right place. First, take out Melvin Gordon because he is out but after you have done that then read the suggestions below.
Start
Philip Rivers – He is having one of his best years as a pro. He is tied for fourth in TD passes. He has thrown two or three every game this season. He set the single-game record for completion percentage last week at 96.6 percent.
Austin Ekeler – The backup is good and he will be used similarly to the way they use Gordon. Ekeler caught ten balls last week and scored 2 TD’s while rushing for 7 yards per carry.
Keenan Allen-He has scored a TD the last three weeks and the last two games are both 20 plus scoring in PPR formats
Sit
Tyrell Williams – He is dealing with an injury and was a limited participant in practice today. His PPR points are down the last three weeks anyway so keep him on your bench.
Mike Williams – This pick by the Chargers let us down as we wanted him to go to a more WR needy team. He has been only used as a WR 2 or 3 on his own team so his fantasy value is not very high. He is very TD dependent, if he doesn’t score then there is not much here. He did score 18 PPR points last week with a touchdown and he might be a WR 3 or flex play if Tyrell misses the game.
Chargers Defense – The return of Joey Bosa helps this unit but they are playing one of the best offenses in the NFL at home.
When playing the Chargers at home, the Steelers have a 14-1 record but the Chargers have only lost once on the road this season. Can the Chargers come into Pittsburgh and get the win? Most of their 8 wins this year have come against teams with a losing record.
Sunday night football has created a great matchup again. There should be lots of scoring and offense so get ready for some fireworks because this will be a good one.
