Morgan Burnett – Stock: Down

Burnett has been a huge disappointment in a Steelers uniform. The team signed him in the offseason to a three-year deal. He has already fallen out of favor with the fans just one year into the deal.

He has been hurt more than he has played this season with injuries lingering since training camp. He was supposed to help the coverage of the secondary as well as replace the veteran leadership and presence of Mike Mitchell.

He has only managed to play in eight of the Steelers 13 games this season. When he has actually made it to the field, he has only mustered a measly 23 total tackles.

Burnett was my favorite signing of the offseason but he has been a huge let-down. I hope the injuries have held him down and he can get back to his old self but injuries have been an issue going on four seasons for him now.

Pittsburgh may reconsider employing his services beyond the first year of the deal. If he is going to be hurt and get paid you might as well just cut him and pay him while opening the roster spot for someone who can play.
