Pittsburgh Steelers: Stock rising/falling after slaying the New England giant
Jaylen Samuels – Stock: Up
Jaylen Samuels looked good running the ball in Oakland. Although the stats don’t portray that as well as he would hope, the eye test told you he is a capable runner and receiver out of the backfield
Samuels exploded Sunday evening to the tune of 19 carries for 142 yards while adding two catches for 30 yards in the win. The Patriots defense is one of the worst against the run and Samuels made the most of every carry he received and helped the Steelers sustain drives and plow for victory.
Samuels biggest play was likely his reception on third down late in the game on Pittsburgh’s final offensive drive. He stayed with Ben and remained open down the sideline when Ben scrambled finding him for 20 yards and the first.
Jaylen has done a great job filling in for James Conner. He should have earned himself some extra looks even once Conner is back.
