The Pittsburgh Steelers finally got the monkey off their back with a win over the Patriots one week ago. Now, to increase their playoff chances, they’ll need to knock off the 12-2 Saints in the Superdome.

The win over New England was huge for multiple reasons, but more importantly, the win actually increased the Steelers’ chances of making the playoffs. There is still work to be done, and as good as the win against the Patriots feels, it pales in comparison to this next challenge.

The bottom line is the Patriots aren’t what they used to be. Tom Brady’s age is finally starting to show a bit (proving he is actually human), Rob Gronkowski is a shell of himself, and that New England defense just doesn’t have the talent it used to have.

Fast forward one week and now you have to play the 12-2 New Orleans Saints. In the Superdome, where the Saints are a much better football team. They are 5-1 at home, outscoring their opponents 228-144 in those games.

The biggest difference between any Saints team in the past and the 2018 version is how complete they are on both sides of the ball. They are an offensive juggernaut and have a stingy defense that can defend the run and the pass.

Their defense needs to be given credit, but our three dangerous players are all on the offensive side of the ball, for obvious reasons. The Steelers’ biggest weaknesses all season have been on defense and the Saints have what seems like unlimited weapons to attack with.
