The two sides of the Antonio Brown story have spoken, according to Brown’s agent, who said the Pittsburgh Steelers have had contact from the wideout.

In a story FanSided published, sources leaked that Antonio Brown and the Pittsburgh Steelers were trying to work out their differences. After weeks of headlines, tweets and instagram posts, it appeared the two sides began to reconcile their differences.

As the story broke, Brown’s agent told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that despite reports, AB and the Steelers have yet to begin their healing process, but have had communication since the season.

Although no one knows what those talks consisted of, hearing the two sides have spoken is significant. While Antonio Brown continues to post pictures of him in a 49ers’ uniform, Pittsburgh fans assume he’s completely jumped shipped.

Now, we know he may want out but he is also talking to the Steelers. It may not mean they’re trying to work out their damaged relationship, but it could mean they’re beginning to discuss a plan. If Brown doesn’t want to be in Pittsburgh, the team should be able to find a trade suitor, and could also be making it known they’re only going to take reasonable compensation for the wide receiver.

It’s not perfect but it’s something. Before Fowler’s story published on January 25, no one seemed to have anything more than an educated guess as to what was happening inside the team. Since then, we seemed to have some understanding of what is happening, and have now furthered that knowledge.

As March inches closer, more and more information should begin to surface. Trade rumors could begin to take shape as the team speaks with other franchises about moving their wideout.

For right now, knowing the two sides have spoken leaves some light. It isn’t a guessing game between the two parties that need to figure something out. No matter how this turns out, that’s an important factor.
