The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for change, and will search high and low to turn their 2018 struggles into their normal success.

This means not everyone will be back in 2019. Pittsburgh has hit what the city and the fans are looking at as rock bottom. This team can’t get much worse, and after watching last season, it’s hard to disagree.

But that doesn’t mean change isn’t possible. The Steelers aren’t a top 10 draft pick team, searching each offseason for answers and never finding them. They’re a Super Bowl contender who was so off track last year that they missed the playoffs and tied the Cleveland Browns.

Now, they’re here. Coaching changes are finished, the draft is still wide open and free agency is fast approaching. Pittsburgh may dive into the market with real money and real effort for the first time in many fans’ lifetimes. Meaning they need to clear space before they add.

These players may have seen their final game in Pittsburgh. Whether they’re failed signings, draft busts or aging veterans, the Steelers are going to dump people to create space for the new talent they try to bring in.

It’ll be a long offseason for the Steelers, but fans are looking for change and they should see the beginning of that change in free agency. How many cuts we’ll see before the draft is up-in-the-air. They could decide to let go of all their loose ends before the market opens or wait until summer to let the rest of their pieces go.

For now, though, they’ll remove these four players and look to add better talent before the draft.
