The Pittsburgh Steelers were the talk of the NFL this offseason, but one offensive lineman says it’s their lack of drama that caused the blowout.

Ramon Foster isn’t much of a talker. Spending most of his offseason in Tennessee, the offensive guard tries to avoid the media as much as possible. But when he’s asked to talk about his new contract, it’s almost forced that he needs to answer at least a few questions.

In a FaceTime call with Missi Matthews, Foster addressed his and Maurkice Pouncey’s new contracts, when he’s returning to Pittsburgh and why he loves Nashville so much. But on top of everything, Foster spoke about the locker room drama filling the Steelers offseason with headlines.

Foster, like the rest of the Steelers team, didn’t see how these issues got so blown up. It appeared one player started talking and it exploded to everyone in Pittsburgh causing problems. Really, though, Foster pointed out that this team doesn’t have drama and that’s why this offseason seemed to overwhelming.

"“In all the years that we have had in Pittsburgh, this will be my 11th year coming up. There has never been a situation like this to ever happen before. There have been small situations that you can just put in a box by themselves, but this has never happened. I think that’s what the biggest issue is, people are not used to us having an issue in our locker room, or it getting out. We have always been that type of organization that nobody knows. And now with social media, and how guys feel their careers should go, they choose to out certain things or do certain things. Media perception is just that. If you walk into our locker room and talk to any of our guys, you would absolutely know that it’s not what has been said.”"

He’s not wrong. Antonio Brown was the only player in Pittsburgh addressing any issues and still, the media turned it into the entire locker room blowing up. The Steelers rid themselves of the wide receiver and hope it’ll stop the noise, and frankly, it should.

This team should be back on track if Foster’s words are true. Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown are gone and the last member, or former member, of the team that’s continuing to talk is Josh Harris. For those still in the locker room, though, no one seems to be concerned with anything making national attention.

dark. Next. Pouncey calls out Josh Harris on Instagram

Pittsburgh is looking beyond the drama and towards the NFL Draft and the 2019 season. This now that Foster and Pouncey are back on the roster, they’re only hoping to make noise by winning football games.
