Steelers film room: LSU linebacker Devin White
How does Devin White fit the Steelers?
He would slide in at inside linebacker, preferably next to Vince Williams. He would be an improvement over Jon Bostic, regardless of how much he would be tested in pass coverage.
White adds speed and athleticism that’s desperately needed at inside linebacker. For anyone who’s skeptical that he may be too much of a “raw talent with a high ceiling guy,” he has enough refined skills to play this position well at the next level.
As stated earlier, White will not be available at the 20th overall pick. The Steelers would have to put some sort of package together with their 10 picks to move up into the 7-10 range to have a chance at White.
White is definitely worth trading up for. He would inject new energy and speed to this defense to go along with adding a “splash play” guy that Mike Tomlin would love to have on the field.
