The Pittsburgh Steelers have 10 picks in the upcoming draft and they are positioned well to bolster the roster. They have some immediate needs but they did well to make themselves able to take the best player available and not reach.

The Pittsburgh Steelers offseason saw them add mid-level free agents at three key positions. WR Donte Moncrief, CB Steven Nelson and LB Mark Barron help fill key needs within the roster without breaking the bank.

These players being signed also positions the Steelers well in the draft. They could trade up to get a better pick in round one or they could sit tight and take best player available at 20.

The Steelers haven’t made a huge round one jump since they traded with Kansas City to move up from 27th to 16th overall. That trade up was the first of its kind from the Steelers in the first round and they selected none other than Troy Polamalu.

The Steelers have the draft capital to make such a move if they choose. They do not have to and they did well to give themselves those options.

The team lost some key guys this offseason from Antonio Brown to Jesse James to L.J. Fort. Brown is obviously the biggest but guys like James and Fort were key assets to the team and tough losses.

Inside linebacker is obviously the biggest need followed by receiver and corner as close seconds. They could also use some defensive line depth and edge help. Tight end is also a need with just Vanve McDonald and Xavier Grimble back from 2018.

Using The Draft Network’s mock draft simulator I made a mock of the Steelers based on how that board fell. They use a predictive board to help simulate the draft. I made all Steelers picks and here they are.
