6c. NFL Draft Profile. Safety. 55. College Stats. Colorado. EvanWorthington. player

The Steelers safety position could use some depth after the disappointing signing of Morgan Burnett didn’t pay off and he left for Cleveland. Evan Worthington is versatile and can provide special teams play as well as depth at the position.

Worthington has the ability and skill set to play all over the field. He doesn’t do one thing great but he does many things at or above average.

His size and athleticism allow him to be used as a deep safety or in the slot in a variety of coverage schemes. His major knock is his run support, or lack thereof.

If Worthington can improve his run defense, Pittsburgh could find ways to get him defensive snaps in year two and beyond but he likely starts out as a special teams player in his rookie year if he makes the team.
