Brandon Kring: Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft
The Steelers desperately need to find a long term solution to the loss of Ryan Shazier. We all want to believe he could come back sometime in the future but the odds are stacked against that and who is to say he would be the same player he was pre-injury?
Devin Bush is a top linebacker in an otherwise weak class. He and Devin White are the only clear cut top level guys in the class and White is likely out of the Steelers reach.
I do think the Steelers make an attempt to trade up to get a better shot at Bush than waiting until pick 20 but here he falls to them where they are. The pick is a popular one among the draft community for the Steelers at 20.
Bush is a three down linebacker with good sideline to sideline speed. He stands 5’11” 235 pounds and runs a 4.43 40 yard dash which is excellent for his size.
He is a bit undersized but he has all the abilities necessary to play linebacker straight out of college. He can fill a gap one play and drop into coverage the next. He is a total package linebacker and the Steelers pounce on the opportunity to get him.
