Corner. 55. NFL Draft Profile. College Stats. Clemson. TrayvonMullen. 3a. player

The Steelers did a good job signing free agents to avoid needing to reach for any one position in the draft. This is especially important to maximize the value of each pick they have.

They signed Steven Nelson to a deal and he will presumably take over the number two spot across from Joe Haden. Haden, however, is getting older and outside of those two and Mike Hilton, the Steelers could use some better depth and young players to begin to develop into a starter.

Trayvon Mullen is a big bodied corner at 6’1″ 199 pounds. He has experience as a starter for the last two seasons at Clemson as a key contributor to their runs at national titles.

He has press man ability with good speed and the ability high point the football. He can use his size and speed to help create traffic at the point of catch and disrupt the receiver’s timing.

Mullen is not a polished product but has all the tools to ease into a starting corner spot as a number two. Haden and Nelson can hold down the fort for another year or two while this pick learns the ropes and develops.
