The Pittsburgh Steelers have made their selection, picking Devin Bush with the 10th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
After months of waiting, the Pittsburgh Steelers have decided who the newest member of the team will be. Adding another weapon to their defense, and bulking up their linebacker core with the addition of Devin Bush.
With the 10th pick, the Steelers had their eyes set on a number of guys, most of them players on the defensive side of the ball. But when all was said and done, the cards fell into place to make Bush their newest weapon.
Bush brings a versatile attack to the inside linebacker position, as a player who can play in both coverage and as a run stuffer, XXX allows the Steelers to fill a position of need with a raw talent. Bush is a player who can come in day one and provide an impact to a growing defense immediately.
For Pittsburgh, adding Bush means they should take that next step in reamping their defense. Last season, the clear weak spot was their defensive edge, and this year, they made sure to put full effort into changing that.
Signing Steven Nelson and Mark Barron, the Steelers added weapons they hope can be used to add a young but veteran presence to their unit. Nelson will work with Joe Haden on the outside at cornerback and Barron will be used at a number of positions to cover the middle of the field.
Now, they take their draft into Day Two, where they’ll continue to fill defensive voids. This year’s class is filled with talent on this side of the ball, and Pittsburgh is looking to take as much advantage of that as possible.
Welcome to Pittsburgh Devin Bush, you’re joining a core that’s ready to win and has a bigger chip on their shoulder than any team in the NFL.
