Ulysees Gilbert III, LB, Akron

Gilbert was one of the more interesting picks on day three of the NFL Draft. The Steelers had brought him in for a pre-draft visit, so the selection itself wasn’t shocking. However, Gilbert is a low risk, high reward candidate in the 6th round.

Ulysees Gilbert tested off the charts at his pro day. According to Tony Pauline of draftanalyst.com, Gilbert posted a 4.46s 40-yard dash, 39.5 inch vertical, 10’6’’ broad jump, 6.94 3-cone, and 20 reps on the bench. It’s not a bad idea to take flyers on small school SPARQ athletes late in the draft.

Grade: B+
