STEELERS: A-

Round 1: (No. 10 overall) Devin Bush, LB, Michigan.
Round 3: (66) Diontae Johnson, WR, Toledo; (83) Justin Layne, CB, Michigan State.
Round 4: (122) Benny Snell, RB, Kentucky.
Round 5: (141) Zach Gentry, TE, Michigan.
Round 6: (175) Sutton Smith, OLB, Northern Illinois; (192) Isaiah Buggs, DT, Alabama; (207)Ulysees Gilbert, LB, Akron.
Round 7: (219) Derwin Gray, OT, Maryland.

The Steelers traded up in the first round for the first time since 2006 to land linebacker Devin Bush. Bush was my 7th overall player in this year’s draft. The Diontae Johnson pick was just alright to me, as the Steelers had a chance to get a player like Chase Winovich there.

Justin Layne was the best pick per value by the Steelers  this year. Ryan Sakamoto recently wrote about why Justin Layne is one of the draft’s best sleeper candidates. Day three wasn’t anything to ride home about for the Steelers, but they grabbed a handful of players that should be able to compete for a roster spot.
