Yesterday, I took a poll on Twitter, asking fans to vote for their favorite Steelers pick according to the value at the spot they were drafted. The options were Devin Bush, Diontae Johnson, Justin Layne, or Benny Snell.

To land Devin Bush the Steelers moved up to the 10th overall pick, but gave up pick 20, pick 52, and a 2020 3rd round draft choice. Diontae Johnson was drafted in the 3nd round with the 66th overall pick, while Justin Layne was taken in the same round, but with pick 83 overall pick. Snell was a 4th round pick who wasn’t taken until pick 122 overall.

Here is how the poll turned out:

With 369 total votes, Devin Bush was the overwhelming favorite pick in this draft – even considering what the Steelers gave up to get him. This came as a surprise to me, as I have interacted with a number of fans who were frustrated that the Steelers had to give up so much to move to pick 10.

In second place was Michigan State cornerback, Justin Layne. My vote would have been for Layne as the Steelers were able to land my 28th overall player at pick 83. Layne is solid on tape, and has incredible length and tools. Apparently, however, the public didn’t agree with me. Layne earned just 26 percent of the vote total.

Benny Snell came in third in the voting – earning 12 percent of the total votes. The Steelers didn’t invest a lot in Snell at pick 122, and he is a pick that many fans were pleased with.

Finally, 3rd round wide receiver, Diontae Johnson, received just 5 percent of the total votes. For many, Johnson was a bit of a surprise pick. Johnson was a named that was linked to the Steelers during the pre-draft process, but it was a little surprising to see Pittsburgh take him with the 66th overall pick. Johnson will have to play up to his draft status to prove to fans he was worth such a high pick.

Overall, I discovered that fans don’t care what the Steelers gave up to land Devin Bush. He will be worth it. So what do you think? Considering value of their draft position, which Steelers pick was the best?
