Mitchell knows the defense

Mike Mitchell is very familiar with Pittsburgh’s defensive scheme. He would, by no mean, be in contention for a starting role, but would serve as a quality backup.

Sean Davis has been up and down is in career (though last season was a step in the right direction). If he were to really struggle, Mitchell could serve as a capable short-term replacement. As a seasoned veteran who has spent four years in Pittsburgh as a starter, Mitchell would be a solid addition to the secondary.
