Top 50 Pittsburgh Steelers of the 2000’s: players 50-41
By Tommy Jaggi
49. Sean Davis, DB/S (2016)
Sean Davis is a player that is still very early into his NFL career. Coming into his 4th season with the Steelers, Davis is still far from a household name.
Sean Davis was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL Draft. As a former college cornerback at Maryland, Davis possessed the athleticism and coverage ability the Steelers were looking for in their secondary.
He began his career in Pittsburgh as a nickel cornerback and transitioned to strong safety in his second season. By year three, Davis found a home at free safety. Still on his rookie deal, Davis is in a contract year and has a lot to prove if he wants to stick with the Steelers for the long haul.
Sean Davis is only 49th on my list of my top 50 Steelers of the 2000’s, but with a handful of prime years ahead, he will certainly have a chance to rise a few spots higher than this.
