18. Larry Foote, LB (2002)

The Steelers have had some day three draft choices make significant contributions to their franchise, and Larry Foote was one of them. The former 4th round draft choice back in 2002 had to climb his way up the ladder in Pittsburgh, but once he did he made his presence felt.

Foote started just 3 games in his first two NFL seasons and collected a grand total of 26 tackles during that time. However, in 2004, the Steelers slotted him in next to James Farrior on the starting defensive unit, and that is where he would remain for the next six seasons.

Though Larry Foote never made a Pro Bowl, he had a way of always making his presence felt on the field. Foote was actually a poor athlete coming out of Michigan, but he played with fire and provided a spark the defense needed.

By his second season as a starter in 2005, Foote was playing at a high level on one of the league’s best defenses. He notched over 100 tackles that season and would continue to be productive throughout the glory days of the Steelers.

When it was all said and done, Foote was a member of the Steelers age 22 to 33. He was part of the team that won two Super Bowls and appeared in a third.
