7. Maurkice Pouncey, C (2010)

Maurkice Pouncey is a player that has received national recognition for his play on the football field – and for good reason. The former 1st round pick has been one of the NFL’s best centers for nearly a decade now.

Pouncey has the resume to back up what Steelers fans have witnessed from him on the football field – including 7 Pro Bowls and 2 All-Pros before the age of 30. However, there are still some who have mixed feelings about Pouncey.

Pro Football Focus, for example, graded him very low for his lackluster performance in 2019 and 2020 – ranking him as one of the worst centers in the league in both years. Still, it’s hard to deny the impact the former 1st rounder out of Florida has made on the Steelers offensive line.

Over the past five NFL seasons, the Steelers have seen quite possibly the best offensive line play they have witnessed in their established history. Though much of this can be attributed to the brilliance of Mike Munchak, Pouncey has more than earned his stripes for the Steelers.

To the surprise of some, Pouncey retired during the 2020 offseason, but his reputation and resume is good enough to warrant Hall of Fame consideration someday.
