Ben Roethlisberger led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a league high in passing yards last season. He has reasonable odds to be the NFL’s MVP in 2019.

The Steelers franchise quarterback had his share of ups and downs in 2018. In one game he would complete 22 of 25 passes for 328 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions against the Panthers, and the next he would complete 27 of 47 passes with 3 interceptions against the Jaguars.

To be quite frank, Ben Roethlisberger was anything but consistent in 2018, and he saw his passer rating dip into the 80’s or lower in 8 of 16 games last season.

Roethlisberger also led the NFL in interceptions in 2018 – throwing the ball to the opposing team 16 times.

However, even with all of his lows last season and finishing the year with the 15th best passer rating among starting quarterbacks, there is hope for Big Ben.

According to a FanDuel Sportsbook, Ben Roethlisberger has 32/1 odds to become the NFL’s MVP in 2019. Here is what Evan Silva had to say about the 37-year old quarterback:

Though it stands to reason that 32/1 odds isn’t going to be the greatest in the league next season, it’s a respectable number for a quarterback who led the NFL in interceptions and whose team missed the playoffs in 2019.

Apparently, FanDuel doesn’t think that Ben is going to have a bad year with Antonio Brown. Though betting sites are not always right, they certainly do their homework, and know what they are talking about. FanDuel is a business that doesn’t want to lose money, so it’s interesting to see 32/1 odds pinned to Big Ben.

It’s still to early to tell how the Steelers signal caller will mesh with all his new skill players on offense. However, it’s worth mentioning that Fan Duel still believes there is a reasonable chance Ben Roethlisberger could hear his name called as the league MVP in 2019.
