Panthers

A team like the Carolina Panthers would make a lot of sense. Gone are the days of the Panthers having a championship caliber defense.

The Steelers effortlessly put up 52 points on Carolina last season, and their defense doesn’t begin to look much prettier in 2019.

The Panthers have lost players like Josh Norman and Thomas Davis in recent years, and it is really beginning to show. Carolina should be willing to bring in anyone they think might help their chances.

The Panthers top three cornerbacks consist of James Bradberry, Donte Jackson, and former Steeler, Ross Cockrell – none of which are spectacular by any means.

Burns would have a chance to come in and compete for a large role on Carolina’s defense if dealt. It’s always possible that he ends up sitting the bench or being cut (like Justin Gilbert was in his first season with the Steelers), but that is a chance they would be willing to take.

Burns could likely be theirs for no more than a sixth round draft draft choice. He could help bring competition to a shaky cornerback group.
