Cardinals

This one is well within the realm of possibility and makes sense on a number of levels. The Cardinals drafted Byron Murphy in the 1st round this year, but are set to lose Patrick Peterson for the first 6 games of the season due to suspension.

Outside cornerback, Robert Alford, was very disappointing last season on the Falcons and has just one respectable season in his 6-year NFL career.

The Cardinals would like to put Murphy in the slot, but that may not be possible with such poor depth on the outside. This is where Artie Burns could come into play.

Arizona is no stranger to making deals with the Pittsburgh Steelers or signing their former players. Though the team is under a new regime with Kliff Kingsbury, the young head coach has shown that he is not afraid to make bold moves, and he has reworked much of his team already this offseason.

Artie Burns could be a stop-gap worth a look during Peterson’s suspension. If he performs well enough, he could stick around for a role or perhaps compete with the 30-year old Alford on the outside.
