The Pittsburgh Steelers finished their second day of training camp Saturday evening. Here is the short list of players who are injured so far.
It’s never good to see injuries occur this early into training camp. Fortunately, the Steelers have been able to avoid the injury bug for now.
I recently wrote about how devastating injuries can be to an NFL team’s season. T.J. Watt gave us a little scare a few days back with a hamstring injury, but luckily, there hasn’t been much to report when it comes to injures this year (knock on wood).
Here are the players who have suffered injuries so far in practice:
T.J. Watt
Injury: Hamstring tightness
Pro Bowl edge defender, T.J. Watt, experienced hamstring tightness while performing running tests on Thursday. Mike Tomlin made it a point to stress that his injury is not serious. Watt was seen doing individual workouts after Saturday’s practice. So far, there hasn’t been a timetable for his return, but it should be fairly soon.
Johnny Holton
Injury: Minor hamstring pull
Johnny Holton’s injury to his hamstring has been the only injury so far that has actually occurred during practice. He suffered a minor hamstring injury on day two of training camp. A pulled hamstring can be a nagging injury, and the timetable is often a case by case basis.

The Steelers have a lot to be thankful for right now – with just 2 of 91 players banged up a bit at this point. Part of being a successful football team is staying healthy, and the Steelers will have to do so in order to be legitimate contenders in 2019.
Injuries are hard to predict and are often fluky. Let’s hope this trend of good health continues in Latrobe over the next few weeks, and rolls on through the 2019 NFL season.
