The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to take the field for their 3rd training camp practice on Sunday. Here is what fans should be watching for.

The Steelers are just a few days into practice, but we are slowly staring to figure things out. I recently wrote an article about my takeaways from training camp, and we should be able to find out more about players and where they lie on the depth chart in the coming days.

There are 89 of 91 players set to take the practice field in Latrobe today (with T.J. Watt and Johnny Holton being the only exceptions). Here are a few things that fans should be watching for:

Emerging receivers

Everybody is dying to know which wide receiver will emerge as the ‘number two’ opposite of JuJu Smith-Schuster. In 11 personnel on day one of practice, the Steelers offense ran with JuJu in the slot, Donte Moncrief as the ‘X’ and James Washington as the ‘Z’.

Eli Rogers, Ryan Switzer, and Diontae Johnson were also rotated into the mix as well. It will be interesting to see which receiver could emerge as the number two option this year. Keep your eyes on that battle.

Ola Adeniyi

T.J. Watt’s hamstring injury opens the door for 2018 preseason standout, Ola Adeniyi. Ola was fantastic last preseason – recording 3.0 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.

Now in is second NFL season, the former undrafted edge rusher will have a chance to earn significant reps in camp, and prove to the Steelers why he belongs on this team. Stay tuned in to this young man.

Quarterback battle

Josh Dobbs struggled in his first practice, but the young quarterback has a chance to redeem himself today. The battle for the number two quarterback is expected to be heated, and may even come down to the wire.

Mason Rudolph currently sits as the number three signal caller on the team. He will look to push Dobbs, as Dobbs looks to take a step forward today. Keep an eye on these two young passers.
