Who will emerge as the third safety?

The Steelers still don’t know who their third safety will be. Before the preseason started, it looked like Marcus Allen would be the guy. Now it seems like it might be Kameron Kelly who was most recently on an Association of American Football team.

There are also other options like P.J. Locke who was regarded for his hitting when they signed him, but hasn’t played well so far. Dravon Askew-Henry is another option. He has played alright so far.

This is an area where the team might add an outside option as well. In my opinion, this is the weakest part of the roster. The Steelers have two legitimate starters in Sean Davis and Terrell Edmunds, but there is a lack of depth after that. My hope is that one of the four emerges in the second game of the preseason, but this story line could drag on into the season. We will see.
