The Pittsburgh Steelers now have two preseason games in the books. Here is an updated look at my 53-man roster prediction entering week three.

The Steelers closed out their second preseason victory of 2019 as they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in a 17-7 contest. While it wasn’t always pretty football, there are many things we learned from the game.

Some players exceeded expectations in their second preseason game, and a there could be a few changes ahead on the roster. Here is an updated look at my 53-man roster prediction for the Steelers heading into week 3 of the preseason:

Quarterbacks: 3

Ben Roethlisberger

Josh Dobbs

Mason Rudolph

Devlin Hodges is not your typical camp arm. On most any other roster, he would have a chance to stick around. Josh Dobbs made a poor decision in the redzone last week, and had a few wild passes, but he was also very impressive in his ability to march the team down the field. These should still be the three quarterbacks on the roster when the season opens.

Running backs: 4

James Conner

Jaylen Samuels

Benny Snell

Roosevelt Nix

Nobody is taking James Conner’s job this season, as he is looking like a true feature back in Pittsburgh. Samuels continues to impress on limited carries, while Snell has been less than stellar. Benny Snell is averaging a dismal 2.1 yards per carry over his first two preseason games. However, a 4th round price tag locks him into the 3rd running back spot. Roosevelt Nix will be their fullback again this year.
