How did the first-string defense look?

The defense played well tonight but they were aided by the Chief’s carelessness with the ball. They were able to hold the Chiefs to seven points even with Patrick Mahomes playing a couple drives so it was encouraging to see him kept in check.

Bud Dupree, who has been a question for the past couple years, had a monster night. He had two sacks, two tackles for a loss, a pass deflection and three quarterback hits and he only played for half the game. This may be a sign that Dupree is turning into the player the Steelers drafted in the first round.

Overall, I would say this side of the ball is closer to ready for the Patriots than the other side of the ball. I think it has been encouraging. The first-string defense will get a final tune-up next week and then they will probably be kept out of the fourth game.
