Earlier this week, we looked at three ‘ingredients’ to the dress rehearsal of the Steelers week three preseason game. Here is how they each performed.

With the Steelers coming away victorious in their dress rehearsal week in Nashville, there were plenty of bright spots as well as areas of needed improvement on display. Our three key ingredients to watch had their fair share of both.

Let’s dive in and see if they upheld the high-quality standard of the Steel City.

Slaw: Wide receivers

This area started relatively rough with a few miscommunications and drops with the first-team unit on the field. Once a rhythm got established, the receiver corps had an overall good outing.

Juju Smith-Schuster finished with 4 receptions for 37 yards and the first touchdown of the game. James Washington continued his strong preseason with a 41-yard touchdown on a bomb from Rudolph.

Add in Switzer’s solid special teams outing, Trey Griffey’s great sideline catch, and Spencer’s speed, and you have a unit that gave an overall fresh, quality performance.

This last week of the preseason will be a big one to watch as receivers continue to battle for roster and starting spots. Every snap matters against the Panthers.

Verdict: Good quality
