The Pittsburgh Steelers won their third consecutive preseason game of 2019. Here are the winners and losers from Sunday night’s game against the Titans.
The Steelers kept the train rolling as they easily secured their third win of the preseason. The defense was once again impressive as they constantly bullied Tennessee’s offensive line.
It wasn’t always pretty, however, and there were a few players who would like to have that performance back. Here are my winners and losers from Sunday night’s action against the Titans:
Winners:
James Conner
There is nothing else I could have asked for from James Conner. He had some tough runs up the middle, and made an excellent inside jump cut on an outside run that went for 21 yards. Conner also caught both of his targets in the passing game. He finished the night with 41 rushing yards on 8.2 yards per carry.
Stephon Tuitt
‘Do it’ Tuitt was alive on Sunday night as he pulverized the Titans offensive line. Stephon Tuitt wasn’t in the game long, but he was disruptive – earning 2 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 quarterback hits, and a safety. He looks like he is in mid-season form.
Ben Roethlisberger
Ben’s performance wasn’t always pretty, but he got the job done and shook off some rust in the process. He had a few throws that got away from him and only finished with 63 yards on 13 attempts, but he was able to get into a rhythm and lead a touchdown drive before he left the game.
