Ulysees Gilbert: Stock – up

Gilbert has shown from camp and throughout the preseason he can be a valuable asset to the Steelers. He has excelled on special teams and has made his plays on defense when he got playing time.

Gilbert’s best shot at making the team was always going to be his ability on special teams and he took advantage of those reps. He capped it off with a blocked field goal Thursday night and could have solidified his roster spot.

Gilbert is a perfect fit as the last linebacker on the roster with speed and good tackling. His speed really helps him in coverage and we cannot forget his interception on a two-point conversion in week one. If the decision comes down to Tuzar Skipper or Ulysees Gilbert, Gilbert seems to have elevated himself toward the spot out of the two.
