As the 2019 NFL Season kicks off this weekend, the Steelers travel to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots. This week we take a look at key matchups the Steelers face—with Boston’s finest ingredients!

The last time the Steelers faced off against the defending champion New England Patriots, it was the last defeat handed to the Pats. The Steelers this time travel somewhere they have only come away victorious: Gillette Stadium.

The Steelers come into the match up as 5.5 point underdogs—a theme that the Steelers have spoken about frequently this off season. With the rise of the Browns and the loss of AB and Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh has been discounted by much of the national media.

To add fuel to the fire of motivation, the Patriots lift their record-tying as Super Bowl champions and hanging their banner in front of the only other team with this accomplishment, Pittsburgh.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger mentioned that he looks forward to this match up and sharing the field with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady–but hopes the defense gets after Brady in this epic showdown.

The Patriots will present some very difficult match ups for the Steelers as they have done so well for the past 18 years. The Steelers will have to have near flawless execution in all three phases.
