James Washington:

2018 season stats:  16 rec, 38 targets, 217 yards, 13.6 ypr, 1 rec TD
2019 stat prediction: 42 rec, 78 targets, 664 yards, 15.8 ypr, 5 rec TD

Washington was electrifying during the preseason this year, but the Steelers have made it clear that his exhibition play doesn’t automatically elevate him to the number two receiving role. Donte Moncrief is still listed as a starter above him on the depth chart.

However, Washington’s stellar play as of late hasn’t gone unnoticed. The Steelers are likely to use more receivers and less tight ends in 2019. Washington could serve as the deep threat for Pittsburgh this year, and be a pretty big part of the passing offense.

Ryan Switzer:

2018 season stats:  36 rec, 44 targets, 253 yards, 7.0 ypr, 1 rec TD
2019 stat prediction: 40 rec, 53 targets, 288 yards, 7.2 ypr, 1 rec TD

With Antonio Brown gone, we can expect a time-share at the wide receiver position and several guys with increased roles. Switzer often served as a security blanket for Ben last year. He should see an increase in targets without Brown or Eli Rogers.

Diontae Johnson:

2019 stat prediction: 21 rec, 43 targets,  297 yards, 12.4 ypr, 1 rec TD

We can’t expect stardom from Diontae Johnson right away, as he will be 6th or 7th in line for targets at best (at least to start the season). He shouldn’t have a rookie year quite as low as Washington’s, but it may take the 3rd round pick a year to get the ball rolling.
