Vance McDonald:

2018 season stats:  50 rec, 72 targets, 610 yards, 12.2 ypr, 4 rec TD
2019 stat prediction: 62 rec, 83 targets, 765 yards, 12.3 ypr, 6 rec TD

Sure, Vance could probably haul in 75 to 80 catches for 1,000 yards if he could stay healthy enough and he was allowed to play more snaps. Unfortunately, Vance has never played a 16-game season, and Randy Fichtner already made it clear that McDonald’s workload isn’t going to increase much.

The Steelers used Jesse James on 50.36 percent of snaps in 2018. But even with him gone, it doesn’t look like McDonald (50.54 percent of snaps last year) is going to be the every-down tight end we were hoping for. Expect a slight increase in production, assuming he stays healthy.

It’s hard to predict exactly how the offense will run without Antonio Brown, and just how much Randy Fichtner plans on running the ball this year. If the game plan doesn’t change a lot from 2018, these are some ball-park estimates of the numbers you may see from the Steelers skill players in 2019.
