The Pittsburgh Steelers opened up the season in New England Sunday night. As everyone knows, it was an atrocious excuse of a football game.

The Steelers much awaited season opener came and went in a disgusting fashion. The team was dominated up and down the field in all facets.

The offense never really got going at all, and the defense looked lost all night. The Steelers had no answer for the Patriots and never were in this game.

In a game like this, it is hard to find anyone at all that is trending up. The downward spiral of stock for many players is basically a basket full of players, and I can reach blindly to find one.

Mike Hilton: stock – down

Mike Hilton emerged a few seasons ago as a very reliable slot corner for the team. His 2018 season went downhill with injuries and poor, inconsistent play.

He didn’t have a great camp and looked terrible in the team’s dress rehearsal in the preseason. That escalated well into week one where he was torched all game long, as was most of the defense.

Hilton’s biggest miscue was getting roasted by Phillip Dorsett for a touchdown in the game. He had no chance and was three steps behind the receiver and watched him score.

This team needs better play from him if they are going to have any shot at a good season. He is a solid blitzing corner and in run support, but his coverage must improve.
