The Pittsburgh Steelers will seek redemption in week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Here are four players who need to improve for that to happen.

After all the scrutiny they have taken since Sunday night’s blowout loss, the Steelers have no doubt been chomping at the bit to get back on the field and prove their worth. The steelers have received a lot of backlash directed toward both the coaching staff and the players.

New England stuck it to Pittsburgh in week one, and there are many players who are hoping to have a bounceback performance in their second game of 2019.

Here are five players who need to redeem themselves at home against the Seattle Seahawks:

Ben Roethlisberger

Everything starts up front with Ben Roethlisberger. Ben had a poor showing in week one. Though he wasn’t aided by the run game or poor wide receiver play, he certainly looked rusty. Steeler fans are used to seeing Ben start the season slowly but to win this matchup he needs to step it up.

Ben had just an 18.2 quarterback rating and a 45.3 overall grade from Pro Football Focus.

Donte Moncrief

Moncrief was pathetic on Sunday night. He took the weight of the loss on his shoulders, but much of the offensive struggles were attributed to his poor play. Donte Moncrief managed just 3 catches for 7 yards on 10 targets. He will need to improve against Seattle, or he will soon be warming the bench on Sundays.

Bud Dupree

Dupree wasn’t talked about a lot on Sunday, and that is partially because he failed to make any impact. While T.J. Watt was busy earning an 87.9 overall PFF grade while constantly taking on double teams, Dupree churned out just a 58.6 grade. With less attention being drawn his way, he needs to pick things up in a hurry.

Terrell Edmunds

I would say that Kameron Kelly needs to improve (because he certainly does), but it looks like Sean Davis is set to suit up at free safety this week. But Kelly wasn’t the only safety who was manipulated all over the field by Tom Brady. Terrell Edmunds had a poor game as well. He will look to redeem himself against the Seahawks this Sunday.

The Steelers can ill afford to sink into a 0-2 deficit to start the season. They will be fired up to take care of business on their home turf this weekend. Let’s just hope these four players step up their game in week 2.
