Five Burning Questions for Week Three Versus the 49ers
By Edward Hunt
Will the defense be more consistent in week 3?
The Steelers defense has looked good at times and bad in others. They did not play well against the Patriots but did do well in the first half against the Seahawks. In the first half, the defensive line was getting plenty of pressure on Russel Wilson. It was actually fun to watch.
The Steelers defense now has a lot of high pedigree guys on the defensive side of the ball. Tommy Jaggi wrote about how that pedigree is misleading, but it is a sign that the Steelers have the guys they want on the defensive side of the ball.
The defense is going to have to be relied upon more this year with Ben Roethlisberger out. The Steelers won’t be able to put up big points. Instead, they will have to run the ball effectively with James Conner and have a good defense.
Let’s see if they can contain Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers offense?
