How will Nick Vannett look in a Steelers uniform?

The Steelers traded a fifth-round pick in 2020 to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Nick Vannett. In a subsequent move, the Steelers put Xavier Grimble on the reserve/injured list. This is a sign that the Steelers expect Nick Vannett to be their #2 tight end.

This was a bad move for many reasons. Tommy Jaggi of Still Curtain outlined this is his article. The three reasons he gives are lousy play according to analytics, trading for a player in a contract year and that they could have signed a tight end.

On the plus side, there is a report that the Steelers have been after Nick Vannett for a while.

My hope is the Steelers will know how to use Nick Vannett better than the Seahawks. We will see in this game as he will likely open up as the second tight end in two-tight end sets. There is also a possibility that Vance McDonald does not dress and Nick Vannett is the starter on Monday Night Football.
