Steelers Five Burning Questions for week four against Bengals
By Edward Hunt
How will the offensive line fare against this defensive line?
The Bengals are not a particularly good team, but they have an excellent defensive line. Another downside of this game is that the Steelers offensive line is not playing as well as last year. This is the area of the Bengals that I am most worried about. It is believed that a lot of a football game is won at the line of scrimmage.
The Bengals play a 4-3 base defense, and all four defensive linemen are strong. Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap are formidable veterans, and Andrew Billings is a good young player. I am surprised that he fell to the fifth-round. Sam Hubbard is also a good, young player.
The Steelers will need the offensive line to pick them up if they want to move the ball and so this is an important storyline to follow this game. The Steelers do have a good, veteran line despite them not playing like it early in the season.
Conclusion
The Steelers need a win this week, and this is a bigger game than I thought it would be when I opened up the schedule. I hope that the Steelers dominate this game and that there are not a lot of injuries.
Division games are always big, and this is no different. This will be their first time facing Zac Taylor, and so the hope is that the Steelers can beat him as they have done against Marvin Lewis in recent history.
Some think the Steelers should fire Tomlin if this game is a loss and that might be in the cards if they lose. Of course, the Steelers tend to tenure their head coaches; so, that is only a minor story to keep an eye on.
