Week 4 Prediction overview

The Cincinnati Bengals are ranked as the second-worst run defense coming into week 4. The Bengals have given up on average, 168.7 yards per game to their opposition along with four rushing touchdowns.

This will be one of the best chances all year for the Pittsburgh Steelers to finally open up their ground game. With the ability to move the ball on the ground, this will allow passing lanes for Mason Rudolph to open up.

Pittsburgh’s running game may be the deciding factor for this matchup, as I expect James Conner to get the best of one of Pittsburgh’s divisional rivals.

The first area of concern: Bengals defensive line

The 49ers physical defensive line was probably the biggest problem for the Steelers offense, and a big reason San Francisco walked away with a victory. The Cincinnati Bengals defensive line is just as talented as the 49ers.

The Bengals defensive line is made up of players such as Carlos Dunlap, Geno Atkins, Carl Lawson, and Sam Hubbard. Dunlap, Hubbard, and Lawson are all questionable for Monday nights matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If all of these defensive playmakers are not active come Monday, Pittsburgh’s offensive line will dominate: it will allow them to open up running lanes, and give Mason Rudolph the time necessary. However, if they do play Rudolph will have to get the ball out quick, and try to be aware of the defensive front batting balls down.
