The Defense
The Defense was really great last night. They dominated the Bengals offensive line. The offense only was able to score 3 points. It seemed that every time Andy Dalton went back to throw the ball he had players in his face or was getting hit or sacked. The Steelers had only six sacks coming into this game. They sacked the quarterback 8 times tonight!
The Defense did a little of everything and also forced some timely turnovers. There was a strip-sack by Bud Dupree that T.J. Watt scooped up before the end of the first half. Then when the Bengals were driving and made a throw was made to the end zone, Mark Barron picked it off. These plays both stopped the Bengals from gaining momentum on offense.
The total offensive output for the Bengals was kept low because of the great Defensive play of the Steelers. Dalton who has been throwing at a career-high amount of attempts this year had games of 418, 311 and 250 yards. He was held to only 171 tonight.
Joe Mixon was held to 62 yards.
The Bengals were held without a touchdown on the night.
