Week 6 writer explanations
“I have been wrong about the Steelers a few times now. I really thought they were going to pull off a win against the Ravens last week. However, Pittsburgh has been faced with major adversity lately. They will travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers with what was once their 4th string, practice squad quarterback just a month ago. I would love to think that the team is going to rally behind Devlin Hodges, but their spirits have to be crushed after a scary injury to Mason Rudolph. I think this is a close contest, but Hodges’ lack of NFL experience may not be enough to get the job done on the west coast.”- Tommy Jaggi
“I think we’re going to see some good things but ultimately lose by around 10. Keenan Allen is probably going to rip our defense apart. 1-5 here we come..”- Mike O’Brien
“I got Chargers 27-19. I hope I’m wrong. I just don’t see the offense being efficient on the road with their third QB starting.”- Jobe Morrison
“True to the adage, “he who quacks last quacks best,” Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges leads efficient drives that light up the scoreboard while Fitzpatrick, Bush, and their mates grow more fully in sync with each other and Butler’s defense.”- James Perry Kelly
“Pittsburgh is facing an even bigger uphill battle than before last week’s happenings with Rudolph likely out for this game. The defense will have to carry them, but the offense will put them in bad positions due to low T. O. P. and likely struggles to move the ball with Hodges behind center. I hope I’m wrong, but I see this team heading into their week off at 1-5.”- Brandon Kring
“The Steelers head on the road to face a hall of fame caliber QB and won’t be able to stop him. The offense might get a jolt in the running department with Roosevelt Nix returning, but that won’t be enough.”- Ryan Pawloski
“The Steelers are a better team than their record shows, and the Chargers looked flat against the Broncos. Look for the Steeler’s defense to get revenge against the Chargers. I don’t think Keith Butler will have a linebacker covering Keenan Allen again.”- Edward Hunt
“Heading into the bye week, we get a much-needed conference win thanks to an offense that finally stretches the field and a bend-don’t-break defense.”- Eric Hassel
Let’s hope that the Steelers rally together around Hodges this week vs. the Chargers, and we can chalk up another win!
