Minkah Fitzpatrick vs His former team

Yeah, yeah. Minkah is saying all of the right things about his team this week. “It was business” cliche, “No hard feelings” cliche… blah blah…

Even if you and your ex “mutually” parted, you always want to show that you won the break-up. Make no mistake, Minkah wants to do the same thing. After the backlash he got from wanting out, he gets a chance to show why. He wanted to play on a team committed to winning; even if things aren’t looking the best.

There’s always a little extra motivation when you play your former team. Minkah will not only want to dominate, but the entire defense will also want to.

Bill Cowher recently commented that the Steelers are finally looking like the Steelers–a dominant defensive team with a complementary offense.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: great teams beat the teams they should and find ways to win against good teams. They will have chances to prove that they are a team on the turn around the rest of the year.

To put Minkah’s impact in perspective, they have allowed an average of 17.5 points and 309 yards a game. Before Minkah? They allowed 30.5 points and 445 yards a game. Needless to say, Minkah and his unit will be a key factor in carrying momentum from the Chargers game into this week; and the rest of the season.
