Steelers WR vs Miami secondary

If there was ever an opportunity to get things rolling for this Steelers wide receiver corps, it’s this week. Not only are the Dolphins terrible against the run (31st), they are also bad against the pass (22nd), and are allowing a lot of points (last.)

The Steelers receivers have looked lost and Fichtner can’t seem to piece together a game plan to work with their strengths. This week, both parties will have opportunities to finally get things rolling.

Want to know who would benefit from this matchup? Just to name a few… Mason Rudolph, Donte Moncrief, and the rest of the young receivers.

Think about it. Miami is allowing a lot of big plays. Who talked about being aggressive this week? Mason Rudolph. What better opponent to air it out for big plays than a struggling secondary?

Not only can Rudolph get his chemistry with his receivers rebuilt, but this also leaves the door open for Donte Moncrief to get his confidence back up; especially after making a tough catch last week. They haven’t let him go yet, it’s time for him to reward the front office’s faith.

The young receivers can also benefit from gaining confidence by having a good outing. This is an opponent the Steelers should handle despite their suspicious play against low-quality opponents under Mike Tomlin.

If they can’t get rolling this week, it will not get any easier the rest of the way. Now is the time to take advantage and make big plays in a dominant win.
