The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. Here’s why all the experts are going with the home team.

Coming off their second win of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Steelers have had a week to rest up after the bye. Pittsburgh has now won two of their last three contests, and seem to be a team on the rise.

Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins have lost 6 straight games to open the year – their most recent being a 21-31 loss against the Bills. So when it came time for experts to make their week 8 picks, it was no surprise to see the Steelers favored.

According to NFL Pick Watch, 99 percent of experts currently favor Pittsburgh over Miami on Monday Night Football.

There are many reasons for this. Pittsburgh’s defense was one of the hottest in the league prior to entering the bye week – giving up just over 15 points per game over their last three contests. Players like Devin Bush and Minkah Fitzpatrick have made tremendous strides already, and T.J. Watt has quickly transformed himself into one of the most dominant edge defenders in the National Football League.

Offensively, the Steelers were able to take a big lead on the Chargers early on during their week 6 matchup, and Mason Rudolph is set to return to the field after suffering a concussion against the Baltimore Ravens.

It’s no secret that Miami is one of the worst teams in the league right now, and they will very much be in the thick of things when talking about which organization will get the number one pick in the draft next year.

Dolphins fans don’t currently have a lot to get excited about on either side of the ball right now. And while the Steelers may still struggle on offense, their challenges are nowhere near the type of uphill battles that Miami is faced with every week.

Pittsburgh has been a historically good team during home primetime games under head coach, Mike Tomlin. The Steelers are heavily favored against an inferior team this week. Let’s hope they take care of business and advance to 3-4 on the season.
