Steelers who could be missing in game versus Colts
By Edward Hunt
Projected Inactives:
James Conner: Doubtful
James Conner will likely be out with a shoulder injury this Sunday. He has not practiced all week and that is a sign that he will not play. My hope is that he will get to dress the following week.
Jaylen Samuels is healthy this week after coming off an injury. He will likely be the starter and the back who gets the lion share of carries. This may be the biggest game of Samuels’s career, as he will carry the load without assistance from James Conner or Benny Snell.
Roosevelt Nix: Questionable
I have a feeling Roosevelt Nix will be out this week, and my gut tells me that he reinjured that knee that has kept him out of action for most of the season. He is a key player and will be missed on running downs if he can’t suit up.
There really isn’t a backup for Roosevelt Nix but the team could use more two-tight end sets and an extra blocker on certain downs. That isn’t as effective as having a fullback like Nix. Nix will also be missed on special teams.
LT Walton: Healthy scratch
The Steelers will have LT Walton as a healthy scratch on Sunday and that is because he is the sixth defensive lineman on the roster. The reason only he is currently on team is because of the sesaon-ending the injury to Stephon Tuitt. All six defensive linemen are healthy for the Steelers and that is a good sign. Isaiah Buggs will continue to get more playing time in the defense.
