Pittsburgh Steelers week 9 prediction overview

If the Pittsburgh Steelers want to escape Sunday with a win, Jaylen Samuels will have to produce similar numbers as he did against the New England Patriots last season in his first regular-season start. Samuels finished against the Patriots with a total of 172 yards. Look for Samuels to acquire quite the workload against the Colts, along with Trey Edmunds. Recently called up Tony Brooks-James should also see a modest amount of snaps.

As his stats from the New England game show, Jaylen Samuels is more than capable of replacing James Conner’s production. I anticipate Samuels will finish with 175 total yards against the Colts. The only concern for Samuels heading into the game is just how healthy the back will be. The North Carolina State alumni has not seen the field since October 6 against the Baltimore Ravens.

The importance of a hot start for Mason Rudolph

If the Pittsburgh Steelers do want this game to go down to the wire, Mason Rudolph will have to start off better than they did last week. Rudolph looked lost during the opening half against the Miami Dolphins.

I felt that the second-year quarterback was shell shocked. After all, this was Mason’s first game back since getting knocked out by the Ravens Earl Thomas. Rudolph did not panic however and overcame the adversity to beat the Dolphins in prime time.

Last week should have given Mason Rudolph the confidence, and momentum headed into the showdown with Indianapolis. Look for Rudolph to throw for 200+ yards while throwing a pair of touchdowns once again. I am afraid the Oklahoma State product will also have a pair of turnovers as well.
