Mason Rudolph – Stock: down

Rudolph did not have his best game of the season. He finished 26-of-35, but he failed to get over 200 yards for the game.

He did throw the touchdown to Vance McDonald, and his lone interception was a dropped pass, but he did not make good decisions most of the game.

Rudolph is an admitted perfectionist, and you like that in a quarterback. However, there are times where that perfect throw or play just isn’t there, and that is what Mason seemed not to want to believe.

He held on to the ball far too long waiting for something to develop, and that spells disaster for any signal-caller. He has to be willing to throw the ball away or get what he can on the ground and call it a day while keeping the ball protected.

These NFL pass rushers are in the league for a reason and, if given enough time, will eventually get to the passer. Rudolph held the ball long enough multiple times for that to happen and, though only sacked once, it disrupted plays for the offense and directly resulted in the safety for the Colts.

Rudolph will need to learn in a hurry with a game against the Los Angeles Rams coming next week. A man by the name of Aaron Donald will be in town, and he never needs long to get to the quarterback, let alone all the time Rudolph gave the Colts today.
