Most Improved Offensive Player: Matt Feiler

It was a pretty clear choice for my Most Improved Offensive Player in Pittsburgh. Matt Feiler was once the weak link of a dominant offensive line. That’s not to say that he was bad, but just not at the same level as the other players on his unit.

This year, the former undrafted offensive tackle is playing as well as any offensive player on the team. Feiler has been rock-solid in both the run game and the pass, and he has anchored down his side of the field against opposing pass rushers.

According to Pro Football Focus, Feiler is not only the best rated Steelers offensive player on the team, but he is also the 6th best offensive tackle in the NFL through the first eight games of the season (81.4 overall grade).

Offensive lineman often get overshadowed by skill players, and it’s hard to recognize their accomplishments without taking a closer look. However, if you do, you will see how Matt Feiler has been as good as any Steeler on offense this season. He is my Most Improved Offensive Player so far in 2019.
