Will Joe Haden play this week?

The Steelers got some bad news Wednesday as Joe Haden was out with an illness. This is too bad as the Steelers will need both outside corners to cover the Browns receivers. The Steelers may have to play Artie Burns on the outside, but he isn’t an ideal option.

There is a possibility that Cameron Sutton plays on the outside Thursday as he has been great this season. He is more used in the slot and has more of that body type. He is capable of playing on the outside, and that might be a good way to get him on the field in the nickel and base defense.

Joe Haden will probably do everything he can to play Thursday, but if he isn’t healthy, then there is nothing the Steelers could do.

My hope is also that Joe Haden didn’t go to the Steelers facility because it would be unfortunate if other players got his illness if he is contagious. The last thing a team in a wild card race needs is an illness to get around the locker room.
